Community is Everything

In Community, Events, Outdoor by Don Alley

Recently, families and friends from Super Kicks Karate participated in the Loco ride, a 26, 50, or 70-mile bike ride through western Loudoun.

It was such a bittersweet day. I loved getting to ride with some of our students on the bike trail, creating new memories with friends. Congrats to those who rode with us ❤️

And it was also terribly sad… one of the riders who joined us, a dear friend of one of our families, quickly and unexpectedly passed away while riding.
It’s been hard to process, and it just reminds you that life is precious, and you never know when it’s your last day.

Smile often. Give hugs. Encourage people. Be a friend. Forgive quickly. Be respectful. All the things 🤗

While we were riding, a cyclist pulled up beside me and started chatting, and I told her how much I loved riding in groups. She responded: “Community is everything. It makes all the difference.” And then an hour later, we lost a dear friend.

Yes… Community is everything. Family is everything. Good people who care for you and love you make all the difference. I’m so glad to be a part of our Super Kicks tribe and have friends and families training together, working hard together, and building a strong community together.

Much love to you all. Thank you for being part of this community, sharing your lives with us. Now, time to go give someone a hug and tell them how much they mean to you, and that you love them ❤️

If you are interested in making a donation to his family, we have included a link. Anything can help as they wrestle with this incredible loss.
