Beautiful Song, Horrible Life Coaching

In Uncategorized by Don Alley

I just listened to the song “ Que Sera, Sera .” I have heard it my entire life… but only JUST paid attention to the lyrics.

It’s a beautiful song by Doris Day, and the people she is singing about are asking about the future, and her blanket answer is: Whatever will be, will be.

I’d like to suggest that we take a much different approach to life— the attitude that achievers take. That black belts take.

“If it is to be, it’s up to me!”

We don’t let life decide for us what will happen. WE decide. WE choose what path and the journey we want to take. And then we take action and MAKE things happen.

Whatever we WILL to be, will be. That’s the whole idea behind earning your black belt, changing your body, becoming more disciplined and being able to achieve ANY goal that you decide to embark on.

“If it is to be, it’s up to me!” My Instructor used to make us repeat this over and over in classes. Obviously, teams and support networks come into play when pursuing goals, but no one will do it for you, whatever IT is. YOU have to make it happen.

Decide what you want to achieve.

Make a plan.

Write it down.

Work your face off.

And never give up.

What goal have you been striving for? What skill would you love to learn? What do you want to be? Do? Have? The world is your oyster if you’re brave enough to dream big, and put in the hard work to achieve.

Que Sera, Sera? Whatever will be will be?

Beautiful song. Horrible life coaching 🙂
